Led the partnership strategy for Google TV, an Android-based Smart TV platform (predecessor to Chromecast). Developed high-level product strategies with CEOs and VPs of major OEMs including Sony, LG, and Intel, driving two successful product launches. Architected a scalable device launch process enabling 10+ SOC and OEM partners to launch devices largely independently. Owned Google TV requirements and remote-control UX. Resolved critical third-party software licensing issues that left Google exposed to major liability, earning the Google TV Hall of Fame award. Grew team from 2 to 10 across Mountain View and Seoul.
Designed key features of the Sprint Vision first-generation 3G mobile Internet packet data switching node (PDSN) at a multinational telecommunications equipment manufacturer ($40B revenue). Implemented the Open Radio Protocol (Open-RP) using C and VxWorks. Identified and implemented performance optimizations resulting in a 20% increase in transmission speed.
NIH-funded health technology startup ($2.5M+ in funding). Developed commercialization plan for SBIR Phase II. Built machine learning models for behavior characterization, activity recognition from smartwatch sensor data, and cognitive health scoring for elderly patients with early signs of cognitive decline.
Big data analytics startup in fantasy sports. Invented and implemented the Fantasy IQ algorithms. Architected the codebase (Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Solr, Heroku, AWS).
